Terms of Use — Maly AI

By using the Maly AI app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy and do not replace it.

1. What the service is

Maly AI is a household bookkeeping app. A bank message reaches the app the way you choose; the amount, merchant, account and category are read out of the text and shown to you on a review card, and nothing is booked into your shared family ledger until you confirm it. Zakat is then derived from that ledger amount by amount, each amount tracked against its own hawl and the nisab.

Maly AI is not a bank, a broker or a licensed financial institution, and it moves no money: it records your own money, it does not transact with it.

2. Accounts

• An account is required. You can create one with an email address or through Google or Apple.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything done from your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country if that is higher.
• If you invite family members into a shared household, every member sees and can edit the same ledger. Invite only people you trust.
• You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.

3. Maly Premium plans

The app is free to use, with ads and usage limits. Maly Premium is an optional upgrade that raises those limits, removes ads and unlocks family sharing. The plans are:

• Monthly — an auto-renewing subscription billed every month. It may include an introductory first month at a reduced price for new subscribers only, paid up front once, after which the subscription renews at the standard price.
• Yearly — an auto-renewing subscription billed every year.
• Lifetime — a one-time purchase. It does not renew and you are never charged again.

Prices are shown in the app in your store's currency and vary by country. We may change prices or what a plan includes in future; a price change never applies to an existing subscription without notice through the store and, where the store requires it, your consent.

4. Billing through Apple and Google

All purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google's Google Play, and payment is governed by the terms of the store you bought from. We never receive or store your card details.

• Your store account is charged when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• We use RevenueCat to validate purchase receipts and determine whether your subscription is active. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what it receives.

5. Cancellation and refunds

• You manage and cancel your subscription in your store's settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Account → Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app does not stop a renewal.
• After cancelling, Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and your account then returns to the free plan.
• Refunds are handled by the stores, not by us. Refund requests go to Apple or Google and are subject to their policies. If a store refunds a purchase, we may end the corresponding entitlement immediately.
• The Lifetime purchase cannot be cancelled and never renews. It belongs to the Maly AI account that bought it and can be restored on your other devices from Profile → Maly Premium → Restore purchases.

6. Referral Premium months

We may grant a month of Premium to both the inviter and the person who accepts the invitation on each successful referral. These months are a promotional reward, not a purchase: they have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and may be capped, changed or discontinued at any time. We may withdraw granted months or remove you from the programme where we suspect abuse — fake accounts, self-referrals or any circumvention of the programme. Granted months never cancel or shorten a paid subscription you already hold.

7. Acceptable use

When using Maly AI, you agree not to:

• use it for anything unlawful, or to record money that is not yours or your household's without the owner's permission;
• attempt to reach another account's or household's data, or probe, breach or disrupt the service;
• reverse-engineer the app, extract keys from it, or drive our backend APIs from outside the app;
• upload unlawful or harmful content, or misuse the AI features to generate it;
• circumvent free-plan limits or the referral programme.

8. Disclaimers

• Not financial advice: Maly AI is a record-keeping and analysis tool. It gives no investment, tax or legal advice.
• Not a religious ruling: zakat figures are educational estimates derived from the data you entered and from market prices that may be delayed or wrong. Consult a qualified scholar about your own obligation.
• Message reading is not guaranteed: the AI can misread a bank message or a receipt. Reviewing and confirming is your responsibility, and the ledger remains yours.
• The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here removes rights that cannot be waived under the law of your country.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if there is fraudulent or harmful activity. You may stop using the service at any time by deleting your account. Terminating an account does not by itself entitle you to a refund of an active subscription — refunds remain with the store.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above changes, and we notify you in the app for material changes. Continuing to use the app after an update takes effect means you accept it.
